Billing themselves as a ‘Boutique Break Cafe’ The Great Commoner, located in the former historic Wager Hotel Building in downtown Dearborn, has been given a design that reflects its simple yet bold menu. Virtuoso Design Build provided millwork, upholstery, and metalwork for the new 6,000 sf coffee bar. These feature design elements include display counters in wood and metal. Bronze chemetal is utilized to create modernized tray ceilings throughout. Custom benches in both wood and metal feature diamond tufted leather upholstery, created inhouse. Display shelving units were crafted and ebonized using india ink in lieu of traditional stains. The central bar and foot rails were fabricated in our shop and installed on site.
